NHCHC / NACHC Vaccine Ambassador Project

  1. The deadline to respond to the Request for Proposals (RFP) was Monday, September 13, 2021. Forty-five organizations submitted applications. The RFP was promoted in coordinated, target approach via a wide variety of networks; click here for a list of outreach.
  2. The 45 organizations that applied are largely 330-funded Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCS), FQHC Look-Alikes, or health departments. This includes organizations from 17 states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. See Tab 1 in the attached spreadsheet. A majority of these organizations will hire new staff to enhance their current Community Health Worker (CHW) workforce and conduct Vaccine Ambassador activities.
  3. Twelve reviewers – eight National Health Care for the Homeless Council Staff and four National Association of Community Health Center staff – are reviewing 10-12 applications over a week-long period. Click here for the link to the Google Drive with all reviewer materials. An orientation was held on Friday, September 17, 2021, to review the scoring system, rating criteria, etc. Click here for archived recording. Final decisions are anticipated to be made internally by September 30, 2021 with public award announcement made in early October.
  4. Next steps include:
    1. Making Awards
    2. Finalizing Training Curriculum
    3. Develop Care Plan Data Collection Tool Template
    4. Build Online Learning Community Platform Infrastructure
