Old NACHC Criteria for Reviewing Abstracts
We do not have “scores”. We only review by either “accepting” or “rejecting” but feel free to make comments in your assigned comment boxes. Don’t worry if there are a few minor spelling and grammatical errors.
Here is our general criteria for reviewing:
· Innovation. Does the poster provide new information? Does it contribute insight into Important and timely research questions (if research poster) or improving health center care (if best practice poster)?
· Presentation. Is information clearly presented? Does it tell the story well? (Please note we are not judging on features that vary with cost of creating a poster.)
· Relevance. Is the poster topic both pertinent and of great interest to health centers in general?
· FOR RESEARCH POSTER: Impact. Are the research and findings likely to contribute to new knowledge of improved practices or policies that support health centers?
· FOR BEST PRACTICE POSTER: Replicability. Is the best practice easily replicable in other health centers?
We typically reject posters if:
· It is not truly a research project or best practice initiative
· There are no true results
· The abstract is trying to “sell” something (a product, etc.)
· The abstract is incomplete
· The abstract is just plain bad
This year, since we can only showcase 58 posters, if we find that we have accepted more than 58 posters, we can narrow them down further by prioritizing high priority topics.
How to Input Your Review Into the Table
For the sake of time, please only write “Reject” in the table under your name for those abstracts that you believe warrant rejection. If you believe an abstract should be accepted, please leave that row under your name blank. This will hopefully speed the process for you and for us to review as a group and discuss outstanding issues. If you have any comments, feel free to write those in. Due to the early June deadline where I have to give Cindy the list of accepted posters, we will not be able to have the option to “accept upon revisions”. It is either “accept” or “reject”.
