Please describe how the implementation of the HIV CDS tool has positively impacted patient care - for the patient/and or the CHC staff OR describe a best practice that you would recommend to another CHC implementing the tool.
Our Project Champion informed us that providers like the new Best Practice Advisory (BPA) and the updated HIV Health Maintenance topic. This tool has been implemented across Howard Brown and all of their providers have the opportunity to take advantage. HIV screening is a regular part of their workflow, so these new tools are helping to identify patients who haven’t been screened and allows providers to easily order tests for them. Additionally, during Peer Review Providers have 1:1 sessions with the EMR Trainer where they go over Health Maintenance topics. The newly updated HIV Screening in Health Maintenance would have otherwise been overlooked had we not updated it during this project.
